Name:  Blake Henderson

Shoe Size:  11.5

How long have you been with BOMF? 11 Months.

What do you get most out of running with BOMF?  The opportunity to regularly make awesome friends that make me want to get out of bed at 5:15am

Favorite race ever done [feel free to add why]?
DC Rock 'N Roll Half...because it wasn't the full

Complete the following sentence:  In my daily routine, I cannot live without synthetic, breathable undies

3 people [alive or dead...athletes or not] with whom you would like to share a large, chocolate milk shake.  Abraham Lincoln, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader  *no light sabers allowed but Abe gets an ax in case things get hectic

Little know, complete useless fact about yourself.  I once ate 50 hard-boiled eggs in one hour enabling me to gain the profound respect and admiration of my fellow inmates in a low-security Mississippi prison.

Back in training!!!

Happy summer everyone!  We are back and are in training for Ragnar 2012!  We had such an amazing [and slightly painful time] last year, we are going to run 200 miles in 24 hours as a 12 person team again!

We again "Team Third Leg" are representing Back On My Feet and the Blair House as a part of the 2012 DC Ragnar Relay.

With our ongoing commitment to BOMF, we are looking to raise $3,600 [the cost to sponsor two runners for one year in the program] before race weekend [September 21 - 22]. Back on My Feet is a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. Back on My Feet (BoMF) does not provide food nor does it provide shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. All members - regardless of race, education or socioeconomic status - join together to move their own lives forward as well as the lives of their teammates.

Last year, we gave everyone some ideas to help [thanks to NO ONE for offering laundry services], so here are some more:

1. Donate to the cause, using the link on the right. No amount is too small...clean out your sofa, glove box in your car, spouse's wallet...whatever!!!
2. Follow us on this blog and on Facebook.
3. Join us for a morning training run at Blair House on Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 5:45 AM [yes, that says AM people].
4. Come cheer us on at Blair House on Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 5:45 AM.
5. Offer your cooking services [post run meals, snacks or during-race-catering]!

We are excited to be doing this incredible race for a spectacular organization. Please help us reach our goal. We will see you on the road!
